Bike Ride: Ohio to Erie to the Camp Chase Trail:

On this tour attendees will experience the greenway and new rail trail that interconnects with short road routes to form the Ohio to Erie Trail in southwestern Franklin County. Participants will be introduced to a variety of features and attractions along the way: seven trail bridges including the 300' steel structure spanning the outerbelt freeway; the new Columbus Wilson Road Park and Camp Chase trail head, Camp Chase Railway Locomotives and two Trailside Murals. The Tour includes a stop at the Westgate Business Center with a new Café and Art Gallery. The route is primarily on the Scioto Greenway trail and the Camp Chase Trail with a few short sections on road riding between. The tour will be on bicycle, terrain is mostly flat with a few inclines and the anticipated distance is 18 miles round trip.

Battelle Darby Creek Nature Center:

Join Franklin County & Columbus Metro Parks on a tour of the Battelle Darby Creek Nature Center. Battelle Darby Creek features more than 7,000 acres of forest, prairies and wetlands. It stretches along 13 miles of the Big and Little Darby creeks, both State and National Scenic Rivers. Besides the areas surrounding the creeks, there are also over 1,600 acres of restored wetlands and prairies. Bison have been introduced to the park and roam freely within two enclosed pastures. At the Nature Center participants will find a 53-foot living stream that flows through the center's exhibits, stocked with creatures found in Big Darby Creek. Natural and cultural history exhibits, many of them interactive, allow visitors to enjoy learning about the wonders of nature.
